My paintings aren't as dark as they look.

When I have time and motivation, I paint.

I am interested in the tactile experience of the human form. The negative space that exists in us all. I want to explore the cathedral of my ribcage, hear the music of the pipe organ it contains.

What do we hold in our bodies, and how do our bodies hold us?

I stretch my own canvasses and incorporate string, lace, and hardware into the gesso to create texture.

I don't plan the painting before I make the canvas. The canvas exists on its own, and I find the painting later.

 Sometimes.
